Once only for the famous and rich, a cruise holiday was only a beautiful dream for some of us romantics. Taking a cruise is the ideal holiday today for many reasons but one in particular stands out, which we all agree on, and that is the fact that it is an all-inclusive deal. A cruise holiday can last anywhere from one day to as many as you would like or can afford, however, I suggest a seven-day cruise as being the ideal.

A week cruise offers you at least three different ports of call, sometimes four. Usually the first and the last day are saved for sailing to get to and from the destination point. On a typical cruise you will have two formal nights and they will be held on the days spent at sea. The first formal night usually is the day after embarkation and is known as the  welcome onboard' . Here you will get to meet the captain of the ship and even take pictures with them if you choose. The second formal night is generally held on the last sea day and is known as the  farewell' . Here too formal attire is expected and lavish dinners will be served such as lobster.


Everything is included in a cruise holiday - the boarding, dining, and entertainment. You will pack and unpack only once and yet get to visit several places. You will not need to worry about driving or commuting as every evening the ship will sail away from one port to get you to another by the next morning. All you have to do is have a good time.

In the beginning I mentioned there is a cruise for every different style and budget. Due to the fact that a vast number of people of all ages turn to cruising every year the cruise industry divided cruises to fit each type and requirement. Therefore there are fun cruises like Disney or Carnival, there are mid-budget cruises such as Holland America or Royal Caribbean or exotic cruises such as Crystal or Silverseas.

Of course prices differ vastly between each cruise line but the good news is that there are cruises that start as low as $199, which I may add is not a bad deal at all.
